Bustrak Inc. (“Bustrak” “we”, “us”, “our”) is a team of professionals with a passion for providing 
technology that enhances productivity for our users and enables them to realize their full 
potential. We are primarily focused on the development and sale of Bustrak – a simple yet 
powerful bus tracking app for parents, schools and transportation companies.

This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and otherwise manage users’ (“you”,
your” or “user”) personal information, including any personal information from children (under
13 years of age) and youth (13-18 years of age) (collectively “Children’s Information”), in 
connection with Bustrak App (“Service”).

Each and every time you access the Service, you are consenting to the collection, use and

What is personal information?

How do we collect personal information? 

We collect information from the following sources:

  1. Information you give us. Any information you provide to us or to users of our platform is stored on our servers. That includes text, images, files and associated metadata.
  2. Information from third party service providers. Any information that is generated by browsing our website or using our platform. This includes Technical Data described above.

How do we use personal information?

We may use the personal information stored through our platform in several ways, including to:

  • provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Service, including when creating new services;
  • improve and enhance the Service and for other development, diagnostic and corrective purposes in connection with the Service and other Bustrak offerings except where prohibited by applicable law;
  • monitor how we provide the Service and support our staff in providing the Service;
  • communicate with you about your account or use of the Service. For example, if there is an issue affecting your account, we may use information stored to contact you about the issue;
  • conduct Service-related surveys;
  • fulfill our contractual obligations;

Children’s Information

  • No account or profile information is made available or visible to the public through our Service. This information is collected by schools using our platform. We do not directly collect this information.

To whom do we disclose personal information? 

Service providers

If we engage third party service providers to perform specific tasks on our behalf, we enter into a written contract with our service providers that provide specific instructions about the purpose and process for data use, retention and destruction. We may disclose information to our service providers for the purpose of completing a specific task on our behalf.

Sale of business

If there is a sale of our business, we may transfer any information we have about you as an asset in connection with a proposed or completed merger or sale (including transfers made as part of insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings) involving all or part of Bustrak or as part of a corporate reorganization or other change in corporate control.

Required by law

We may be required by law to share your personal information. For example, we may provide personal information stored on our system in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to an organization in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law, or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.

How do we safeguard your personal information?

Bustrak seeks to maintain appropriate physical, administrative, and technical security measures with respect to its offices and information storage capabilities so as to prevent any loss, theft, misuse, or unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification of personal information. This commitment also applies to the destruction of personal information we collect and store.

We work hard to protect your information. As part of our security safeguards, we restrict access to personal information to Bustrak employees on a need-to-know basis. Those employees with access to personal information have all passed a criminal record check and are bound by a confidentiality agreement. Bustrak treats employee misuse of personal information as a serious offence for which disciplinary action may be taken.

Bustrak audits its procedures and security measures as appropriate to ensure that they remain effective, current and reasonable. Our service is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer “SSL”.

While we take the security of your personal information very seriously, and we maintain a rigorous privacy program, we cannot guarantee the security of your information, and you provide us your information at your own risk. There are certain precautions you should take to maximize the security of your information such as choosing a unique password and preventing any disclosure of that password.

How long do we retain your personal information?

Bustrak stores your personal information for as long as it is necessary for legitimate business purposes. Personal information associated with your account will be kept until your account is deleted. If we no longer need the information to provide products and services, we will delete your personal information. Please note that we may de-identify or retain some information after your account is closed to comply with legal obligations or to protect the safety and security of other users and our services.

You may access, correct or delete any personal information you provide directly to us through our app.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time, and at our sole discretion. Bustrak encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
